Summary:This document is intended to provide background and discussion around the need for a Primary Care Information Management Reference Group (PCIMRG).
Such a group could provide a nationally representative primary care forum that wouldstrengthen the primary care relationships, and enable primary care to take a strongerleadership role with Information Management (IM).
The attached discussion paper deliberately focuses on the need for such a group rather thandescribing how such a representative group would be established and managed.
Theestablishment process and the ongoing operation of the proposed PCIMRG would bedeveloped collaboratively within the primary care sector.
If you have some additional perspectives, ideas, or challenges that you wish to share we
would encourage you to contact Harley Aish.
If you are interested in investigating further the concept of establishing and participating in a
PCIMRG then we would also like to hear from you.
